Friday June 27

Worked really hard in the garden today - first we did some weeding and raking. Had some home made soup then went out to fill up 6 bathtubs (donated ones) with rocks, compost, and top soil. We'll be planting seedling trees in the tubs as a temporary home. It was really hard work shoveling dirt into the tubs. I finally quit around 4:30 and came in to make dinner.

Oh, while we were shoveling dirt a local named Scott walked by and recognized Sara from her previous trip here. He came over and have her a big hug. Sara introduced us and he told me he was famous...on google earth!! He's a real character! Here's the photo of him on google earth...notice that he is waving at the google earth car!



We've been here 6 days and as I looked around the living room, I realized for the first time that they don't have a tv! I haven't missed it at all..nor have I thought about it.

We sat around visiting this eve and went to bed fairly early as everyone was tired.
