More patience

We woke up at 3:30 this morning to catch the 4:00 AM shuttle to the airport, but as I emerged from the shower, I was further showered with multiple f-bombs from Sara...she had just gotten an email that our 6:30 AM flight was cancelled. To quote my 2 year old grandaughter, Emmie, "Cmon, man. You've got to be kidding!"

So we took the 4:00 AM shuttle to the airport and proceeded to try to get yet another flight. Sara worked an agent at the ticketing place and I had been on hold for 30 minutes on my cell trying to reach United. The guy on the phone finally came up with a plan: An 11:00 flight to Atlanta, then direct flight to Frankfurt, then to Aberdeen...arriving at the same time as the flight this morning. Tolerable.

We found out there was an earlier flight to Atlanta at 7:00 so we went on standby and were confirmed. We thought at least we would be moving in the right direction. Within about 5 minutes of the confirmation they announced that the flight was delayed with electrical problems and then further delayed to after 2:00. All we could do is burst out laughing...very loud! So we went back to the 11:00 flight and got our seat assignments and we are currently sitting at the gate, drooling and falling asleep...we've had 6 hours of sleep in the last 2 days. The good thing is that maybe we will be able to sleep on the overnight flight to Frankfurt!!

We're hoping the fourth time is the charm!
