Shetland at last!

Went out like a light last night. Woke around 4:00 & again, it was light outside. I slept like a baby with the cradle-like rocking of the ship. At 4:00 we were raring to go! Went outside on deck & looked around - all water & no land anywhere. It was a very interesting feeling - very cleansing, as we transition to being on Shetland - we needed to clear our mind before experiencing it. And there was a definite connectedness to mother earth & being in her rocking cradle all night. Maybe it's the summer solstice making this even more apparent.

We started to see land around 6:30 AM. It was very overcast & gray & misty....but still it was very beautiful.

Before I close for now, here are some photos from the ferry ride:

Look carefully under the table. We were thankful that we had our cabin!.

Breakfast on the ferry.

Coming closer to Lerwick.

Approaching Lerwick.

We've just docked in port - Lerwick. Can't wait to set foot on Shetland Island!

  2. The breakfast looked wonderful, not sure about the guests under the table. Probably added to ambiance. Must have felt good to have gotten sleep and a good meal.
